YHLA in joint venture with MWM Architects designed the renovation and expansion of the Oakland International Airport Terminal 2 Building. YHLA was responsible for the interior architecture and new building systems including: in-bound baggage system; interiors at the new baggage claim building; ticketing, concourse, gate renovations and improvements; new restrooms; new 10 lane security check point; security, tele-communications, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems. YHLA was one of the leaders in the effort for LEED Silver Certification, the first ever in the United States for an airport passenger terminal.
