Malonga Casquelourd consists of 75 rehabilitated single room occupancy (SRO) units on the top three floors of a former women's club built in 1926. The units were experiencing water infiltration issues from a variety of sources making many units uninhabitable. The project involved a thorough forensic study to determine the causes of water infiltration. New exterior windows and elastomeric paint were provided, while plumbing fixtures, including steam heat radiators, were repaired. Additionally, new energy efficient light fixtures were installed, the rooms were cleaned and painted, and new low maintenance simulated wood plank vinyl flooring was added.
